CALL FOR PAPERS AND PRESENTATIONS

The program chairs, J. Regan Thomas, MD and Anthony Sclafani, MD invite interested members to submit abstracts for consideration for the AAFPRS Fall Meeting 2008 in Chicago, IL, September 18-21, 2008. Abstracts may be submitted for Paper Presentations, Poster Presentations, Instruction Courses or Workshops.

Deadline for submission:
Instruction Courses and Workshops – February 15, 2008
Paper and Poster Presentations – March 15, 2008

Submission Instructions:

To submit your abstract, please click on the Abstract Submission button located on the AAFPRS webpage – www.aafprs.org or type the following url into your browser: http://forumgroup.emeetingsonline.com/emeetings/ctbpaperlogin.asp?mmnno=243

Enter your email address, then click the “New” button Complete all required demographic information then click “Save” If there are co-authors or presenters involved in your presentation, please click “New” under the Co-Author section to enter information the necessary information. Information and invitations can be sent to your co-authors directly from the system.

To enter your abstract, click on the “Edit” button at the bottom of the page.

Abstracts may be text only. You may copy and past text from Word or other similar word processing programs.

Title: Enter your abstract title, up to 100 Characters

Abstract: Type or past your abstract in this box, up to 1000 characters. Abstracts are text only. If your abstract is accepted, you will be given an opportunity to submit charts, graphs and images for inclusion it the proceedings.

Purpose: Type or past the educational need being addressed by this presentation. Please include 1 or 2 learning objectives. Learning Objectives should be active statements: “At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: …” Use verbs such as “discuss,” “explain,” “assess,” “compare and contrast,” “evaluate,” etc. Objectives should relate directly to the identified need being addressed. Sources for needs identification can be: expert opinion, focus group, literature review, evaluation data, etc.

Disclosure: Please review the AAFPRS Disclosure Policy (attached). Disclosure relates not only to the authors and presenters, but also to any individual who has the potential to impact the content or delivery of the educational activity, their spouse and their children. All authors/presenters must disclose any significant relationship with a commercial entity. It is the prerogative of the CME Committee to determine whether or not a relationship presents a conflict of interest.

PLEASE NOTE: the submitting author is responsible for obtaining accurate disclosure information for all so-authors.

Topic Areas: Under topic area 1, please select the type of presentation you are submitting: Paper Presentation, Instruction Course, Workshop or Poster Presentation.

Use topic areas 2 and 3 to indicate the key words relating to your specific presentation.

Comments: Use this block for any additional comments you would like to share with the reviewers.

Abstract deadlines are: February 15th for instruction courses and workshops and March 15th for paper presentations and posters.

IMPORTANT! If your abstract is accepted by the AAFPRS for a paper or poster presentation at a scientific session you MUST be submit 4 copies of the COMPLETED PAPER 6 weeks prior to the presentation date. The paper will be submitted to the Archives of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for consideration. FAILURE TO COMPLY with this requirement may result in suspension of presentation privileges at any AAFPRS program for up to 3 years.
